Dovarese Island has been twinned since 2002 with Velaux, a town in Provence that is part of the Bouche de Rhone department.
In recent years, meetings and exchanges have been organized between school groups, with senior citizens, between soccer teams, both youth and senior, between historical and folk groups, and between associations operating in the two municipalities.
Currently, the Twinning Committee has about 60 members and manages to run the various meetings thanks to the direct contribution of the participants, thanks to membership fees and contributions coming mainly from local associations.
Clearly the goal is to continue, expand and improve the exchanges between the two communities in the spirit of Friendship, Respect and Knowledge that has marked every initiative so far.
